Hola,
conocido?
Gracias.

Sorry, I repeat my post in english. But my english is not very good.
I´m trying to install a cluster with w2k8 Server Enterprise in two virtual
machines who are in vmware cluster. The esx version is 3.5.0.
When I try to validate de cluster I recibe a warning about the storage.
Do someone Know if there is any compatibility problem with clustering and
vmware?

Thanks.

Hello ElenaML,

If you think it is a VMware problem you should post to a VMWare NG. What
exact warning do you get and how is your storage configuration?

Best regards

The exactily message is "El tipo de bus de disco no admite el uso de
clústeres.". It can be traduced as "the bus type of disc does not support the
use of cluster".

I don´t Kow if it is a vmware problem or windows problem. I´ll post it to a
VMware too.

Thanks.

Windows 2008 clustering requires SCSI-3 persistent reservation support on
the disks which isn't supported by VMware "shared SCSI bus" configurations.
The easiest way to get W2K8 clustering going is to use something like
RocketDivision's StarWind iSCSI target (http://www.rocketdivision.com/) to
create the shared storage and then use the built-in iSCSI initiator in W2K8
to connect up to the storage for clustering.

John
