Try the following:-

Click Start, select run and type the following (pressing okay after each one):-

net.exe stop wuauserv

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 MSXML3.dll

net.exe start wuauserv

Try WU again.

I have finally found the solution to my (OUR) problem!

I changed;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dowsFirewall\StandardProfile
"EnableFirewall" changed value to 0 instead of 1 and my updates installed
with out any issues.

Hello

i also got the same error and tried to execute the command but still has the
problem. On my case it is after repairing the XP PRO.

How do you add the enableFirewall portion in the registery. I have all the
