Failure again and again

Help please.. I have an error code of 0x87FF0004(zeros or O's?)
Have XP Home edition. Computer is trying to update to XP (2). In doing so
I get a message of not being able to copy file advapi32.dll. It says make
sure path is correct (which it is) OR change and insert Windows XP Service
Pack 2 Source Files on desired drive. Can someone tell me what I'm supposed
to do? I was able to find the file easily but as many times as I press retry
I get the same message. I have to keep canceling. I don't understand it as a
beginner.

You're trying to update a computer running WinXP SP2 or you're trying to
install SP2?
