Failure to search for updates: 800F0900

Whenever I try to search for updates, the system shows the error message
'Code 800F0900'. All the previous updates have gone through successfully. But
I am not able to run the task for new updates.

I am running a Windows Vista Home Premium version with SP1. Any suggestions?

AU Check (v78a)

Download and *save* it. After the download completes close all open
programs and browsers.

*** Temporarily disable the installed antivirus/security
suite/anti-malware/3rd party softwares. This includes all services nd
processes associated with them. Either consult the User Guide or the
manufacturer's web site to learn how this is accomplished.
You can use the following steps to Clean Boot Vista if the above task is
too complicated: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean
boot in Windows Vista

*Enable* the native Vista firewall as the system must be connected to
the net when the tool runs so that it can downloaded needed updating
software components. ***

Now run au_check_v78a_codeplex.exe by *right* clicking it and choosing
'Run as administrator'. Allow it time to complete it's operation.
Reboot afterwards.

See if the system can update now.

I've had the same problem and, when I tried to download from
http://www.codeplex.com/aureset/Rele...eleaseId=17263,
I just got the message "This project is not published yet". Any other
suggestions? Thanks. Mike.

I have this same issue....
Vista 64 Ultimate with all updates until 11/10/2008

I've tried everything I could find:
Chkdsk = OK
Tried reinstalling the Windows Update

Now, this AU Check tool would be wonderful, but your link to it is DEAD and
I can't find it anywhere anywhere....
Perhaps someone with a version can provide it???

This is really getting very annoying..

Sorry, AUCheck has been pulled for the THIRD time. However, it has not
resolved the 800f0900 when run, so it's a moot point.
If you want to contribute to finding a resolution for this specific
error, suggest you compress both the WindowsUpdate and CBS.logs into a
..zip file and send them to me. I'll forward them along to my contact on
the WindowsUpdate team.

but im not very good with all this tech stuff, so could someone please tell
me how to compress WindowsUpdate and CBS.logs into a ..zip file.
