I've tried running the .NET SP1 on my PC, using the link you gave below (I'm
having similar problems installing the .NET Framework service pack).
Partly through the installation the update stops and prompts for the
location of a file called "tmp3.tmp". I've searched across all of the disks
on my PC, and the file in question does not exist on any of the disks. I
did find a file called "tmp4AD.tmp" in the same folder that the update was
trying to find "tmp3.tmp", that apparently was created just after the update
was started. I renamed that file to "tmp3.tmp" and continued the update
process. It seems to have run successfully, but time will tell :-).
