FAN....RUNS ON HIGH NON STOP!! need to adjust!

HEY I NEED HELP ADJUSTING MY FAN CONTROLS, SOMEHOW WHEN I AM RUNNING ON AC THE FAN IS RUNNING SUPER FAST, WITHOUT HAVING ANY WINDOWS OPEN, IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN MODIFY THE SETTINGS? I HAVE VISTA HOME PREMIUM 64BITTHANKS!!

My Gateway computer required a Bios update to correct the same type of
problem. The fan ran at full speed and never slowed down to quiet.

Hi,

Don't know any way of controlling this with Vista - could be a hardware
problem - better get it checked out. In the meantime here's a free app
to control fan speed

Exactly - visit your motherboard manufacturers website and make sur
you have up to date Bios and Driver

Somtimes there is a setting in the bios for this. Just hit the Del key when
starting the system(yours might be another key, just look at your display).
Like on mine there is the option to run the fan with or without s.m.a.r.t.
mode.
be carefull what you change in there.
