In XP pressing windows key + L would return you to the main screen with
available accounts. In vista in returns you to an "account locked" screen.
From there you have to press "switch user" to get to the main screen with
accounts. How can one skip this annoying "account locked" screen and make
windows key + L return directly to main logon screen, just as in XP??

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

PS: I think this new "account locked" screen in Vista might have something
to do with combining fast user switchin with some domain-issue or something.
But it's so annoying when one does not use a domain

I think the only way to get what you want would be to use the classic style
logon. This would make winlogon like previous versions of windows. It is a
GPO that is available.

Thanks Josh, could you explain how this is done exactly? Too bad that you
can't remove the "account locked" screen. No use when one is not using
domains.

Microsoft has replace the WinKey+L with Lock Computer. I try to disable the
network and change network relationship from workgroup to domain in respect
to bring the Switch User screen by press WinKey+L but no success.

I "Google" on this but found that WinKey+L is the shortcut to Lock Computer.
But the good news is: press WinKey+L then ALT+W to bring the Switch User
screen. Navigate between users through Arrow Keys.

Hope this is what Microsoft has to say about Switch User. Let us know!
