I have a fatal error that appeared suddenly:

WinCodecPro is not just a set of codecs to improve the audio and video
quality on your computer! This newest development of SPACE Technology, thanks
to it we were able to improve video image by 68%,to improve sound effects by
32% and to improve the quality of Flash by 46%!For the last 8 years products
of SPACE Technology have proved their strong unsurpassed quality! WinCodecPro

ICQ#: 6-263-664

Its suspicious because the only way to correct the problem is to buy the
update mentioned in a website that opens when I clink on the Red "X" that
appears when I start up windows. is this a scam, virus, or Trojan and can I
get rid of it. MacAfee and windows update haven't helped. I admit I
downloaded the WinCodecPro update and it didn't work even after emailing
their support, which they stated i should do.
