Fatal Execution Engine Error (0x7927baca) intalling .NET Framework

I repeatedly get this error each time I try to install the Microsoft .NET
Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 that Windows Update tells me is a critical
update that I need. The error then gets followed by another error message
that gives me the option to try a debugger, but then I get a third error
message saying a JIT debugger could not be found. What's going on? What
should I do????

No, I haven't, and I still get the same error each ytime I try to install the
upgrade - just hapenned again yesterday when I got a new security upgrade
notice from Microsoft. I have been too busy to follow up continually on
searching for an answer, but I plan to continue my search as time allows it.
If I ever find the answer I'll make sure to post it so you know. I'd

I contacted Microsoft Support and they solved the problem. If you will send
me your e-mail address I will forward their solution.
