Favorites "Create in" problem

I asked this question back in August and wondered if anyone had come up with
a fix since that time.

I'm using WinXP and IE8. One major problem with IE8, for me, is that the
default folder in adding a Favorite ("Create in") is "Favorites." In IE7 it
was whatever folder you had used for the previous addition. Since I add
Favorites regularly for my work--and often to the same folder--this is a
real pain.

Has anyone created a workaround? (Do other browsers operate similarly?)
