fax poblems after uptating win xp

I've installed Windows XP. after some days the fax didn't work and the
computer freeze. I can't install fax again.
I've install Windows again, and this morning after installing updates the
problem occur again. I'm afraid that one of the new update cause this
problem.
Anyone know which update?

I have no problems with the fax and the only "critical" update I *never*
download is MS Malicious Software Removal Tool.

I also have never downloaded the .Net thingy.

I only install security and hotfix updates, did anybody know if or which
update cause this problem?

NO critical update has caused a problem with my fax on two machines, one
in English and one in Spanish.

As I have written, removing this update solve this problem on my machine
(English). when I install this update the problem occur again. I am vary
happy that you have no problems.

I am happy to tell u that the update did not cause the problem. I found
program in the memory that make the problem. Now the machine work OK with
all updates.
