What a disappointment I had after getting a new laptop from Toshiba with
Vista home prem.
is any one aware with a free Fax software that is compatible with vista.

Not so "premium", eh? Not free but I've heard good things about Snappy Fax.

Don't know if this will help you, but I have no problems faxing wit
Lexmark x8350 after updateing my driver to vista 64 bit. May be time t
buy a ALL IN ONE

Does it allow you to fax, say, a Word document from your computer? What
format does the Lexmark put the received faxes in and are they
assessable from your computer or does the Lexmark just print them?

Most phone modems and faxing printers come with fax software - many are
"BVRP Fax" OEM's. If you did not get one, just ask your friends... and run
it in compatibility mode. It's not great but does the job.
