My computer is set up to auto download any MS critical downloads. Today it
downloaded 21 different patches. I installed them. Since restarting,
however, a pop up "found new hardware" keeps appearing in the icon tray for
my printer (psc 2410) and then a window will pop up that says "Cannot install
this hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware: HP PSC 2400
series. An error occurred during the installation of this device. The
system cannot find the file specified. Click finish to close the wizard."
So I do and the pop up comes back in the icon tray - it's a vicious cycle.
If I don't click "Finish" the window just sits on my desktop.
I printed a page from my outlook calendar - printed without a problem.
Prints from IE.
Help!! Thanks.

Download and install the latest driver from there.

Are you referring to the "Critical update to resolve an issue with HP
Director after installing Internet Explorer 7 "? I already did and it didn't
fix that either which I didn't even know wasn't displaying properly until I
tried to open HP director after the pop-ups began (it was displaying properly
2 days ago and I downloaded IE7 several weeks ago).
I'm going to uninstall each of the new updates until the pop up screen goes
away - this could take some time since there were 21 updates downloaded and
installed today.
Thanks.

No - I was referring to the actual driver for the product.
Download and install it direct from HP.
