It's those manufacturers who are to blame for not making drivers that work,
they had plenty of notice to do that!
To revert to XP you would have to do a complete clean format and install.

If you aren't in a position to return the laptop in exchange for one with
XP, it would be certain to involve some kind of big hassle. It could also
be expensive and hard to downgrade Vista to XP. If the printer is your
only problem, evaluate buying a replacement for your Lexmark.

Have you verified with the printer, camera manufacturers etc that
their hardware is not compatible with Windows Vista?
In many cases, all that is needed is new drivers from the hardware
manufacturer.

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask for options.
If they can not give you a satisfactory answer, return the computer
and purchase another with Windows XP.
Dell and other OEMs sell computers with Windows XP and probably will
through January 2008.

Next time before you invest in a new computer, verify compatibility of
all essential hardware and software in advance.

Funny. you didn't have to do that with XP.. because everything worked!

Blaming it on the user again are we?

You are never going to admit that vista stinks...
Even if you are the last person alive that is using the darn thing!

Like hell it did..
I still have an old IBM notebook loaded with win98se so I can use my aps
film scanner.
The scanner will never work with anything later and Kodak withdrew support
but I don't use enough aps film to buy a new scanner.
