Hello,

I have Vista and when I open any application with fields, even when I
click "start" and in the search field, something starts filling in
"////////////////////" and doesn't stop until the field limit is reached
if it ever is. Sometimes, when I think I've been spared today, it
doesn't start filling it in until I put the cursor in the field and
other times still yet it doesn't start until I start typing in the
field. In all events, the computer is making a weird multiple short
beeping sound probably for every "/" it enters.

I'm up-to-date with my McAfee definitions and my computer is scanned
nightly at 3am for virus. I'm up-to-date with my Microsoft updates
including Vista Service Pack 2.

HELP!

Thanks Jon! I forgot to add in my plea for help that that was the first
thing I tried. Popped the key, cleaned it with an alcohol swab, air
sprayed the whole keyboard. Did I miss anything?

Thanks again,

Doug

No, that sounds pretty thorough.

Can't think what else you could do, but perhaps someone else will chip in
with some ideas.......

In that case, the keyboard needs to be replaced.

Do you have any kind of "auto-fill" app installed? Roboform et al...
Also, IE I think, has some "auto..." options.
