I have used file back up successfully to create a backup on a DVD-R disc.
When the next scheduled back up occured the file backup failed with error
0x8007054F.

Anybody any ideas?

Because the disk is already written and closed. I would recommend investing
in a external hard disk. The large, cheap, reliable.
