How Do I get Vista's File Explorer to include the Year when Sorting By Date ?

Example If I Sort my Documents It sorts by Month/Day/Year

So Instead of Todays Documents being at the top, the Documents from Last
year in December are at the top, January's are near the bottom, but the ones
from this year are newer than Decembers, and should show up on top

I.E.
Shoud show up as
File 1/07/2009
File 12/23/2008
File 11/17/2008
File 1/09/2008
File 12/15/2007

But it will show up as
File 12/23/2008
File 12/15/2007
File 11/17/2008
File 1/09/2008
File 1/07/2009

I discovered the same problem and was very annoyed by it. I never found a
solution for the sorting but I did find a way to change the format of the
date:

Launch the Regional and Language Options in the Control Panel. "Select the
"Customize this format..." button on the Formats tab. In the Date tab,
change the Short Date format to "yyyy/MM/dd". This allows the files to sort
as expected since the year appears first in the date string. FYI, I also
added the leading zero to the hours in my time format.

Obviously this is a work around rather than a solution. I got me what I
wanted, though.
