File extention .lnk doesn't work

Hello everybody,

This morning autostart tried to start a .lnk file. This didn't work and the
system asked me for the correct file assocation. In hury a clicked on
"Acrobat Reader".

Now my problem is that all desktop shortcuts and startmenu shurtcuts start
"Acrobat Reader". Also when I try to create a new shortcut on the desktop
this isn't working any longer

I tried severall ways to change this, but nothing worked. First I tried a
system restore, but system restore comes all the time with an error (System
restore is not possible, try an other resore point). Also I tried to change
the .lnk extension in system settings, but it is not possible to change the
..lnk extension even when i'm logged in the my pc as system adminstrator.

I hope I explained my problem clear enough so anybody can help me,
