File Priority

The other day, I copied a 1GB file into a DFS folder. We have bandwidth
restriction active, so it took all day for this file to transfer to the
remote site. In the mean time, any small files that other users added to
the DFS folder did not get transfered to the remote site. It seems like
they were put in line behind the large file.

Is there any way to set up something that would prioritize small files over
large files?

I am not sure if there is any, but if you are using w2k8 you can make use of
the remote differential compression using replication
