File Removal From Registry

Because my PC is running very sluggishly, I ran some virus detection
programs. I then ran a removal program (Stinger). Most of the files were
deleted via Stinger, but it was then relayed that (7) files needed to be
removed manually (not the exact wording, but the jest of it). Per the
instructions, I 1) disabled system restore, 2) restarted the pc in safe mode,
3) accessed registry (run regedit), 4*) locate and delete the files that were
found to be "bad".

* problem area - I think
When I use the (control + f) find feature through the entire registry, no
files are identified.

What am I doing wrong?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance!!!!

Use the search companion to find the files.
Hit the START button/Search.

This may sound a little harsh, so please ignore if sensitive....

What are you doing wrong?
Posting to a newsgroup for Windows Update when you should be posting
to a group for your operating system? (Which you forgot to mention)

The Registry does not contain files, though it does contain references
to files which may or may not exist on your hard drive. Can you supply
the exact message when you repost, as your interpretation of the gist
of the message may be different to those reading your post?
