File Size Larger Then Listed! 268 MB! What Is Happening?

I have Win XP Pro. When the update site scans my computer for needed updates
it shows only one update needed....the Windows XP Service Pack 2. When I
select the update for downloading it lists the size of the Service Pack 2
update as 75 MB. However, when the download is in process the window that
shows how much has been downloaded shows that I have downloaded 95.30 MB of
268.00 MB!

I have had to stop and start this download a few times. When I realized the
file size was much larger then the 75 MB it was originally shown to be, I
stopped the download again and rebooted my pc thinking something was just
haywire. When I went back to continue the update, it is showing the same
large file size 268.00 MB.

My husband successfully downloaded the update for his pc which is running
Win XP Pro, as well. The size of his update file was 94 MB! I am concerned
that I am getting a file that has something more in it then the Windows
Service Pack 2 update! Could there be a virus in with this download??? What
in the world would make this download 268 MB when it should have been 75 MB ?
I won't continue this download until I find out what is going on with it.
Help will be appreciated.

Thank You!

Returning to ask....How can I get rid of the already downloaded 95.30 MB of
the SP 2 file from my pc? The Windows Update site obviously has a glitch in
it to have started a download of a 268 MB SP 2 file when it listed this file
as only 75 MB before I clicked on 'install'. I selected the 'Express
Installation' and each time I reconnect to obtain the SP2 file I select
'Express' and it shows the file as being 75 MB....then when I click on
'install' the progress window of the download shows it is downloading a 268
MB file! The only way I can see to get it to stop this is to get rid of the
already downloaded 95.30 MB of this file and then go back to Windows Update
and try again to get the smaller 75 MB file, which should have been
downloading in the first place. Help with this will be appreciated! Thanks!
