I have Win XP Pro. When the update site scans my computer for needed updates
it shows only one update needed....the Windows XP Service Pack 2. When I
select the update for downloading it lists the size of the Service Pack 2
update as 75 MB. However, when the download is in process the window that
shows how much has been downloaded shows that I have downloaded 95.30 MB of
268.00 MB!
I have had to stop and start this download a few times. When I realized the
file size was much larger then the 75 MB it was originally shown to be, I
stopped the download again and rebooted my pc thinking something was just
haywire. When I went back to continue the update, it is showing the same
large file size 268.00 MB.
My husband successfully downloaded the update for his pc which is running
Win XP Pro, as well. The size of his update file was 94 MB! I am concerned
that I am getting a file that has something more in it then the Windows
Service Pack 2 update! Could there be a virus in with this download??? What
in the world would make this download 268 MB when it should have been 75 MB ?
I won't continue this download until I find out what is going on with it.
Help will be appreciated.
Thank You!
