file size not displayed in status bar

Hi,
it seems that Vista does not display the size of the files which your are
currently displaying.
Previous versions did display this information in the status bar.

Is there a way to reactivate this display or is it gone with Vista?
It is a real nuisance to always have to mark the files in order to see their
size.
