File virtualization in applications causing problems?

I have an application that runs just fine on Vista Ultimate 64-bit, it's for
Image processing. It's called Thumbs Plus! It's version 7, SP1. When I open
the program and view the folder tree on my primary hard disk, I see both
C:\Users, and C:\Documents and Settings.

When I open My Computer, and open Drive C:, I only see C:\Users.

I have learned that this is because of Virtualization.

Is there anything that I can do to stop the Documents and Settings folder
from showing up?

I've had other programs show that folder too.

This sounds like the thumbs plus program is not completely Vista compatible.
This isn't file virtualization.

The Documents and Settings folder is just a junction point that redirects
older programs to the C:\Users folder in Vista.
