How do you import the files and settings from XP. I did install the update
from the MS Update website that supposedly make my Files & Settings transfer
wizard compatable with Vista.

Vista is looking for a *.MIG file and my files are in a UNC file.

Thanks

I didn't know there was such an update. All that I've heard is that the two
wizards are incompatible, you can't gather files and settings with the XP
wizard and import them into Vista. Are you sure you didn't download the
update that makes the 32-bit Windows XP FSTW compatible with the 64-bit FSTW
instead?

Thanks Richard and that confirms the total garbage Vista is. Thankfully the
new model Toshiba I just bought came with a full version of Vista and
Windows XP. I am now going to format the drive and wipe the garbage Vista
off the drive and install XP.
I cannot believe Microsoft can dumb such incredible *garbage* into the
market place and get away with it. *THANK YOU THANK YOU* Toshiba for
releasing this new model with XP and Vista. I can restore my sanity. I
tried to give Vista a good shake, but it really is US GARBAGE. Hopefully
the Chinese will release a new and decent quality operating system as the US
now is a has been bankrupt and bereft nation financially and morally. How
could anybody dumb such GARBAGE into the market place. Vista can only be
described as fraud.

Richard thanks for the reply. I am stunned, truly stunned Microsoft is such
a lousy dumb incompetent company!!!
