Files only visible in search view

Strange obscure behavior. On my brothers laptop, in documents a folde
with pictures disapeared. But if He searches the folder name it comes u
with all the files. Ive never seen this one before. Interesting point
In properties for some of the files in the search view they are showin
0 bytes and opens to a blank window

Has anyone ever seen this before
Thanks in advance for any advice
