I want to keep a common set of files up to date between my 1940 and PC.
Where do they need to be on each machine?

Thanks

Hi Julian,

To synchronize files between the computer and PPC --

1. Open ActiveSync on the Desktop PC.
2. Click Tools -> Options.
3. Put a check mark next to Files.
4. Click Ok.
5. Synchronize the unit with the Desktop PC.

When the Files information type is selected for synchronization,
ActiveSync synchronizes all of the files you place in the synchronized
file folder. This folder is created on your Desktop computer when you
select the Files information type for synchronization. A shortcut to
the folder is also placed on your desktop.

To synchronize a file, place it in this folder. However, if you edit the
contents of the file on both the devices, a conflict will occur during
synchronization since ActiveSync is unable to determine which version needs
to be updated on either device. By default, it will prompt you about the
conflict. If you want set up a different conflict resolution settings,
Click Tools -> Options -> Rules tab and set the Conflict resolution setting.

Regards,
Raj

also, since excel and word files edited on the ppc can loose advanced
options when opened on the ppc, make sure you have a backup copy of any
advanced format file on you pc
