Hello,

We are running MS communicator - can we run messenger live to connect to our
communicator server?

Greetings Boe,

Nope, Windows Live Messenger uses its own protocol and connects to the .NET Messenger Service
exclusively. You'll have to use Office Communicator or Windows Messenger for your Live
Communications Server.

Good to know - that seems a shame MS didn't make it integrate but I
certainly appreciate the quick response.

Hi,

For a testing scenario this morning, I had to use Windows Messenger 5.x on both a Live
Communications Server and the .NET Messenger network which was something I hadn't done in
ages. I'd forgotten how nice the integration was with both of them. Maybe someday they'll be
back together.
