I finally was able to get Ultimate to install. The only problem I had
was with activation. When I saw a message that I had 3 days to
activate, I tried to press the "activate now" link, but nothing
happened. So I called Microsoft. I ended up with the activation
team and they wanted me to be sitting at my computer with my
activation window open in front of me. Of course, since I wasn't
able to get that window open, she hung up on me. Then I went into
google groups and found a posting by one of the MVP (Carey maybe)
who told the OP about typinging slui.exe 4 into the search bar.
Well that worked. I got my activation window up and was able
to activate over the phone with only a few "I didn't quite catch that"
responses from the very nice robot on the other end.
Ultimate seems to be a good, stable OS. And the best part is, that I
can use a Terminal Services connection on Linux and connect to it.
While this may seem like a useless post, there is one piece of
information in it, so my rant is not in vain.
