how to find out what BITS is actually downloading?

Hi,
tonight my old dialup connection rec/send lights are flickering like crazy.
BITS is downloading something tho i have given it no permission to do
anything. my auto updates are on "tell me but do not download" and even when
i turn it off completely the modem does not stop.

I know its BITS because if i stop the BITS process the modem lights stop too.

what i want to know is how to find out what BITS is actually up to. after
nearly 2 hours i am getting paranoid i have been hijacked.

anyone got any advice?
