::Hello all. I'm a newbie here. Have had Vista since last
Oct. and am an AOL dial up user. Am an avid Pogo game player, but with
the combo of vista and aol, most of my games won't load. Have been told
to download the Firefox browser. Anyone have any advice on that? Is it
safe? Are there a lot of settings I need to tweek with after downloading
it? I would appreciate any and all help from you! Cat ::

You need to install Java in order to play Pogo.
You do not need a different browser.

Visit:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
and download, then install, the "offline" version
(file size: 15.18 MB).

Firefox is a decent browser, not as secure as Internet Explorer 7 on Windows
Vista. But good if you want a wide range of 3rd party extensions.

If the Pogo games will work with it I'm not in a position to say. I assume
you're using the AOL browser, so the first thing I'd try would be Internet
Explorer instead, which you should be able to find in the Start Menu.

It's safer than Internet Exploder, that's for sure. Get it at
www.mozilla.com/firefox

Get out of the '80's.
Nothing bad happens in IE anymore.
Nothing

It's probably your machine. I'm sure it's all screwed up because you have
no clue what you are doing. I run IE and it works the first time every
time. Never had a problem with it. On the other hand, I know what I'm
doing.

What is?

What did I say that lead you to this erroneous conclusion?

The few times I have to use it because the site will only accept IE, I
have had no problems. I prefer Firefox, especially FF3 which has many
features IE can only dream about.

We know what you do with your hands, Bill.
