WHICH GAME?

What kind of computer? (Make/Model or Specs)

Which version of Vista?

Internet connection provider? (Comsuck, AT&P, AOHell)

Internet connection type? (Cable/DSL)

I have tried to log onto online gaming services for months without success. I
can go anywhere on the Internet with no problem but if I try to get on a
online game it just sits there and will not connect. It usually just times
out and says things like no connection made etc. I could connect with my dial
up but after going to DSL I never could connnect again. My DSL provider said
they don't know why. Go figure.

It can also be Norton (Symantec) or McAfee antivirus software. Both those
programs don't like to allow something to run unless they say it is okay,
and many people blame everything on a firewall.

I have everything updated and have even tried connecting with all security
shut down and still get the same results. I tried once, on a different
computer, to connect after a total fresh install of Vista. Still, the
connection couldn't be made. I have to wonder if the modem my dsl provider
sent me is blocking it somehow. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas.

PCTools Internet Security Suite but it doesn't matter as I've had this
problem even without any security programs even installed on the computer.

Okay, but that is probably what is blocking it currently. Listen to the
title of the program. It is there to keep things from going into and out of
your computer. Honestly, once you check on it it is probably just a small
adjustment you need to tell that program to "allow" what it is blocking and
everything will be fine.
