First Back-up How long will it take ?

Hi i was told when i got the PC to do a back up, as it dose not come with any
recovery softwere.

I started the backup wizard (vista ) it seems to take hours is this right ?

Shouldn't take hours. Maybe something got "hosed". Bring up the task
manager and see what processes are running.

depends on the speed of the transfer to the media u are using and the
number of bytes to be backed up, the speed of your processor. heavy
compression can slow down the back up to. ie--hard to say!!
