I have been unable to dl newest adobe reader ... have been told by others
that the service pack 3 (which is supposedly being received by some folks)
will solve this problem. However, I do not see a dl for a single computer to
download! Anyone had problems with adobe? I am also unable to remove the
old adobe system in order to try and install a later version.

Unless MS have taken over Adobe, suggest you use their forum :
http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/

As for the link to SP3, it can be used on single PC's as well. It is
advisable to get SP3 through Windows Update, that way you know the computer
is ready for SP3.
Once again assuming your OS is Windows XP.

I install Adobe Reader (all sorts of versions) almost daily on some computer
somewhere. No problems heree.

However - if I was to have a problem installing it - I would check with
Adobe first. ;-)

Anyway - ignore any 'warnings' about the IT Professional version being for
those installing on multiple machines when it comes to service packs. There
is ONE version of Windows XP Service Pack 3... You can just grab it in a
variety of ways...

1) http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ (custom)
2) Windows XP Service Pack 3 - ISO-9660 CD Image File:

3) Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT
Professionals
and Developers:

Good luck.
