Norton eat my Office and Adobe icons. After removing Norton Security and
unstalling a new security suite (BitDefender) I have generic icons for my
Office and Adobe reader files. The applications work fine but I would like
to get the icons resored.

Any ideas.

Right click the Icon, click Properties, then select Change Icon. It should
then open to the correct stash of icons and let you choose the icon again.

Pop`

These refer to installer file icons. I've had the same issue. One workaround
is to click on start, then right click on programs (all users or open) to
open it as a folder. Then create a new shortcut that directly accesses the
actual programs instead of an installer or file type link.
