Greetings Arthur,

I believe there are some issues occurring at the moment as some of my accounts just did the
same thing. Pressing the Retry button signed me back in fine. Assuming this just happened
to you, I'd suggest you simply try again a few minutes.

I have had this problem for a month or two. It does not appear to be
directly tied to the account becasue i can login from my laptop with the same
account even as my desktop PC will not sign-in.

Hi Jonathan, I'm having this problem and I've seen cases all over the
Internet, together with different attempts to solve it...but none has
actually worked for me. Is there any patch or solution MS has release or is
developing?
Thanks.

Well I too had the same problem. I tried reinstalling Microsofts wonderful
software but to no avail. I tried flushing out the DNS cache but that didn't
work either. After several hours of soul searching and troubleshooting I
think I finally discovered what it might be. I went into my Netgear router
config and noticed that the DNS Address section had the 'Get Automatically
from ISP' so thinking of static routes I changed it to 'Use these' which then
uses the two IP addresses I had placed in there previously for the primary
and Secondary DNS.......I think its fair to say that if your ISP has a small
DNS pool then every now and then you'll use the same server and therefore the
80072745 error appears random.... Anyway try it...It worked for me withour
rebooting...... And besides, reading the inane responses you've received thus
far, what have you got to lose....
Any response that support or negates what I have found as a work around to
yet anthoer Mircosoft feature, would be warmly received.......

top man paul. I had the same problem, tried the same things then when i read
your post remembered that my Netgear router had hardcoded DNS servers in due
to an earlier issue. The opposite of your issue but DNS related.

Changed them back and bang! MSN logging in ok again. Thanks again.

Yep worked for me too ta very much. Flushed DNS on client to no avail. Logged
into router, gave it a fake static DNS IP address then changed to back to ISP
assigned and all started working with WLMl. That was after I traced it with
Netmon 3, looked at DNS and all appeared well - guess I'm not the diagnostic
dude I once thought I was (sigh).
