Dear People,

There is an easy way to work around this issue. All you have to do is type
this into the Address Bar in IE.

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com

This will take you into the old Ver of WU, where you can get your updates
and so on. Have fun!!!

Sincerely,

Not if you've already been using the V6 update engine, Chris.

0x8007043C

Means: ERROR_NOT_SAFEBOOT_SERVICE.
Translation: You need a service which is not available in safe mode

I know this work, we tryed it on a Laptop, but the laptop didn't have SP2. If
it's going back to V6 like you are saying. This is a Registry Problem, in
this case you can remove IE from your Control Panel, and reinstall it. This
may work, but i haven't try it, you can also try to do a Recovery on the
Registry. For me i would just Wipe & Reload your system, to be on the save
side.

I am not like PA Bear who just tells people "I told ya so" and doesn't help
people or even trys.
