| We recently received our laptop back from Acer repair. This was the 2nd time
| it has been in for repair. The first time they replaced the motherboard and
| this time they replaced the hard drive. After starting it back up and
| getting everything all set up again there were a lot of Windows Updates that
| needed to be installed. The first 2 updates to install were Installer 3.1
| (?) and those seemed to install fine and cause no problems. Once those were
| installed Windows Update found 88 updates that needed to be downloaded and
| installed. So I download everything and turn off the computer for them to
| install. They seem to install fine during shutdown but then when I turn my
| computer on I get the fixed disk failure message. The computer was working
| fine before installing these updates. What gives? I've tried this twice
| now. I called Acer after the first time thinking it was a problem with the
| new harddrive (which is still a possibility) and they had me to a full
| restore and then told me to be careful about installing Windows Updates and
| to actually turn automatic updates off. However, we want our computer
| protected.
|
| Anyone have any similar problems after installing updates?
It has nothing to do with MS Updates.
You bought a lemon computer -- junk!
