Fixing Activesync and Outlook 2003 Cached Exchange Mode

Does anyone, (someone from Microsoft perhaps?) have any idea when Activesync
3.7.1 will be updated to allow Outlook 2003 in Cached Exchange Mode to sync
and exit properly?

It is enormously inconvenient that they do not currently work together, the
two products must be used together all the time by a huge number of end
users, and they have both been out for ages...

I use ActiveSync 3.7 and Outlook 2003 in Cached Mode without any problems.
Maybe a downgrade of ActiveSync will help. Just so you have the specs to
compare, my device is running Pocket PC 2003 and my PC is Windows 2000.
