Linux!

No kidding. It's easier to fix bad file systems/diagnose hardware
problems in Linux, so a Knoppix CD can be a lifesaver.

Of course, you should ALWAYS keep a good hairdryer handy.

your problem with some accuracy and details and you might get some
assistance that will be useful.

I am having problems with the below updates not installing. Also the
below updates fail to install. And here is th Code 57E. Tell me the
steps you would
use to install the software updates below. Again not
installing,failing to install!

(II.) Security Update for Microsoft Powerpoint 2007 (KB957789)
(III.) Security Update for Mcirosoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack
2 for X64
based System (KB954430)
