Flash Player Prompt

I am getting a prompt to install the latest version of Macromedia Flash,
constantly when using Live Messenger. I have clicked install and the flash
site works perfectly. it says I need to stop and restart live messenger
which i have done repeatedly and I am still getting the annoying prompt. Im
using Version 8.0 (Build 8.0.0792.00). Will a uninstall and reinstall help?
Is anyone else getting this prompt?

Hello Randy,

Did you tried to close the IM client and install the Flash Player through
the browser or using a installer?
When it is installed, (to be sure, restart your browser and test some flash
sites) open your IM client and see if the prompt window still appear.
