I have tried to install the flashplayer update released by windows updates
and it won't install, any solutions, have also checked what players version
it applies to, mine is flash player 8, seems like the update applies to lower
versions, maybe thats why it won't install.?

Don't use Windows to update any program or driver other than an MS
program. Go to www.flash.com and update it there. If you want it updated
for all your browsers, you will have to do it one browser at a time.
Note that Windows Update is only concerned with IE updates to Flash and
could care less about other browsers. Once you've updated Flash
properly, Windows Update should no longer be telling you to update it.

This is not the case: you can update Flash Player 8 as much as you like
from the original manufacturer's website, but it won't stop Microsoft
Updates trying and failing to instal 913433. The problem with 913433 is
triggered by the presence on hard disk of files belonging to previously
installed older versions of Flash Player. The work-around for this, as
documented in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913433 is to delete the files
of the older versions of Flash Player.

Or keep your computer clean to begin with. Two computers of mine were
not offered this update and had had previous versions of Flash on them
but I use a registry cleaner and had taken out the Flash trash. I had
just reinstalled XP on the other one I have and didn't bother to install
anything for IE as I only use it for WU, which didn't recognize that I
have it on Firefox. When I installed it on IE, using www.flash.com, the
update went away. This goes to show how registry cleaners can be helpful
and are not a "waste of time".

Hi, Can you recommend what Enterprise customers using SMS should do when
the ITMU tool keeps failing to install this update? Can the ITMU tool be
fixed to not just at the older files and determine that the update is
required?
