Flashing Wireless Switching Icon and Inactive dialogue box

Sony Vaio FZ140E with Home Premium


1. When my wife signs in to her account the wireless switch setting utility
icon flashes orange in the lower left taskbar. You have to let it go or OK
it. Mine did that for awhile but now comes up as the green box on the lower
right side of taskbar. How do I get the flashing icon to stop every time she
signs on.

2. While trying set up my blackberry to tether with my sony vaio, I have to
go to Phones and Modems icon in the Control Panel and type a string in the
Extra Initialization Command box after selecting Standard Modem. However,
the box does not let me type anything in it. Stating that to do so would be
dangerous and referring me to the modem manual of which I have none. Anyone
know how I can type in the box.
