.....for me anyway.............hope it works for others as this is a bonkers
situation to be in.
Anyway....I tried a fairly simple fix given me by 'blurcode' in the thread
currently on page 3 of this forum entitled 'KB892130 manual install'.

Basically you go to the SoftWare Distribution Download folder and 'run' the
update set-up file inside it. (That is ....presuming you HAVE one).
Installation Wizard pops up and Bingo!-I get through to the Update site
without all this WGA not installing nonsense.

Big thanks to blurcode and anyone else who came up with this one.

The question is....shouldn't this have AUTOMATICALLY run/installed
itself.....there is something fishy going on because we shouldn't have to dig
around like this.

I SINCERELY hope this will help others with this problem and thank you all
for ideas and support.

Until The Next Time friends!! : )

flo

(PS....I am a computer numbskull but this fix was easy to do!)

Unfortunately for me, I received an "Access Denied!" message. Still no fix...

i tried the pcexec on the post tagged SOLUTION TO WINDOWS UPDATE PROBLEM,
and that work great jus put the pcexec file in the temp folder with the
downloaded exe file, rename the exe file to a.exe it and put the line
c:\temp\psexec -i -s c:\temp\a.exe in the run and it works great. try it out
easy peasy
