FMSO schema master role will not transfer

HI all:
I have:
2000 DC and 2003 DC.
I have transfered all the fsmo roles except the schema master role to the
2003DC.
When I try to transfer the schema master role I get error that says the
parameter is incorrect. I can connect to the 2000DC from the 2003DC and see
all of the shared files. This is what I have tried so far:
I registerd schmmgmt.dl sucessfully.
I ran mmc then added active directory schema and then clicked change the
domain controller. Clicked specify name and then clicked ok. I got the
error message :
the domain controller could not be set. The parameter is incorrect. When I
clicked on the operations master and clicked change it showed the 2000 server
as the schema master and showed the 2003dc as the one to transfer it to but
when I clicked change I got error message that said
the parameter is incorrect and that the transfer could not be done.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or why it says the parameter is
incorrect? I typed in the full domain name. (the same way it showed up in
the transfer box ).
Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Never mind. I figured out what was wrong. I didn't know that you had to go
to AD and choose connect to a domain controller. Once I did that then it
worked.
Now I need to look a changing the function level.
Thanks all

Hello Sher,

Fine that you got it. For the forest/domain functional level changes you
have to make sure that depending on the level you like to choose no earlier
OS DCs are allowed, for example 'Windows server 2003' will not allow any
windows 2000 DC.
