In XP when openning a folder we had a red X to delete a file. I wonder why
it's missing in Vista? Is there a way to add this command to the folder?. I
realize a file in the folder can be deleted by other methods.

If you right click Delete is one of the choices.

Thats just the default behaviour unfortunately, it cannot be edited.

If you would like to create your own, you might want to take a look at the

Hi,

It's a redesigned Windows Explorer, and that as well as several other
buttons (cut/copy/paste among them) were removed. No, there is no option to
add them back. As a point of information, changes to the UI such as this
were based on responses from a large number of usability studies.
