Folder split into 2

I found today that a folder appears to have been split into two. I have an
extra folder with "(3603)" added to the name. Most of the files have moved
into the new folder. Together the 2 folders appear to contain all the
original files, with no file appearing in both folders.

The original folder's "Date modified" is about the time I did a sytem
restore yesterday, while the new folder's date is the day before yesterday,
before the date of the restore point.

Any idea what's going on?
