Hello,
I've tried the Windows Live Messenger 9 Beta and the new interface is nice
(except for the avatars to the left of the window and the huge heaviness of
the global application). It does even handle ShowWindow(..., SW_RESTORE)
correctly now, which makes it useable with apps like Switcher.
But it's creating a Tracing folder in the user profile, which is seen when
you open the profile folder. What is the reason? Will this be fixed for the
final release? I don't think that's a good idea as it "pollutes" the profile
folder with data that the user doesn't need (and even want) to see.
Regards,

Greetings,

I don't have an answer for you for obvious reasons, but thanks for the heads up about
switcher, the window model had obviously changed for glass support, but I'd forgotten that
would've sorted out the switcher problem.

I actually have a few (Microsoft) apps which are using that Tracing folder, like Live Meeting
and they're certainly not in beta.

I am also quite anoyed with the Tracing folder so I made it hidden.
have the final version of Windows Live Messenger too. I just have t
say that I think making that folder was a bad idea and what could hav
been done to make everyones life easier would have been to make tha
folder hidden in the first place if it is in use. I know I don't lik
wierd floders popping up in random places after installing software tha
I want to use. I don't know what the folder is for either
