What Folder are Windows Update downloads kept in?

I have just performed a base installation of 2k3 enterprise eval in vmware
for coursework. I did not know how large to make the partition for the
system drive so I allocated approximately 2 GB for it. The install went
fine but when I tried to install SP1 via windows update it failed for not
enough disk space. I show 275 MB free. I then converted the drive to
dynamic disk thinking I could extend the volume but windows says the current
volume was created under a previous operating system as a basic volume &
cannot be extended. My next thought is to create a new dynamic volume &
mount it as the folder where the downloads are kept for update, but I don't
know where the downloads go. What folder does windows update use to drop
the files in?
