Font(.fon) compatibility in Vista

Hi all,

We are using a font(.fon) in our application. It is a group of fonts, many
font names are embedded into this font.

We have selected a particular font name in our code. All the glyphs are
properly displaying in our application on Windows 2K, Xp and Mac X. But in
Vista we are getting blank or wrong glyphs for some ascii characters(0-30).

We can see the wrong glyphs or blank glyphs for ascii character 0-30, when
we open this font using "MainType" tool in Vista. But in 2K,Xp,Mac it is
showing proper glyphs for all the ascii character when we opened using the
same tool.

When we open this Fonts in MainType we can see all the font names which are
embedded in this font and the corresponding glyphs in Vista,2K,Xp, Mac.

We have used one more tool BitFonter. Using this tool also we can see all
the a font names. Here all the glyphs are exactly same in Vista as well as
Mac X, 2k, Xp for the selected font name. For ascii character 0-30 it is
showing blank in all the OS.

We can't see these font names when we open the same font using FontLab or
Fontographer in Vista as well as 2K, Xp, Mac X(It is just showing one font,
i.e we can't see different font names)

We are confused about this font behavior on different font tools. Does it
mean that this font is not Vista compatible? If not, how can we make it Vista
compatible. What are the necessary steps need to be taken. Why the behavior
is different on different tools?

Any help is hugely appreciated.

Thanks and Best Regards
Sudesh
