Font manaement

Hi, I use a pc for making adverts for a growing number of people and have
been adding fonts at will for a long time. I realise that all these extras
are not needed for most of the time and believe my system would perform
better with some of the more rarely used fonts parked "off system" in a "font
store" for my evereyday work.

Is there a fiont managaement programme like the old HP font wizard that
could help me install / uninstall (without deleting) fonts that are not the
common system fonts that anyone can recommend anywhere please?

Thanks
Dave

of course, and I use them all the time to avoid installing too many fonts..

but all of them are not free...

here are 2 of such programs but there are many, all of these are called
"font managers"
you can do a search at www.download.com and www.snapfiles.com for more

This is a free one that has a TEMP LOAD feature
http://www.ampsoft.net/utilities/FontViewer.php

This is a better one that is not free X-Fonter 6.3

you might also want to look at this, however I have not tried it yet, and Im
not sure it works with vista.. but it does look interesting

http://www.loseyourmind.com/vff10.asp

Virtual Font Folder watches a user specified folder for changes. When one or
more TrueType (TTF) files are dragged to the folder, they will be installed
in Windows for use by applications. When font files are removed from this
folder, VFF will also uninstall them from Windows.

I use Extensis Suitcase. They also own Font Reserve now, but I think that
will be killed off.

Thank you all very much. I did realise there are some out there, but its
always nice to receive the opinions of your peers before taking the plunge...
